eczema causes in children

does anyone know of a skin condition in children that causes flare ups of red blotches, but does NOT itch?
our doctor(s) don’t seem to know what is causing it or even what IT is. they’ve tried calling it a fungus, a viral infection, and eczema ( which it certainly isn’t ). it doesn’t affect my son at all, but it looks awful ( sort of like ringworm?…. altho doctors said that it wasn’t? but then, what do they know…. ). but the main thing that is unusual is it absolutely doesn’t itch!!! nor does it blister, or pop, or ooze, or flake. it’s not dry or pussy. it’s just weird shaped red dots and/or splotches that appear everywhere from his cheeks all over down to his feet. if anyone has any sort of insight as to what this could be, please email me back. we are at a loss here and would just like to know what it is!
My son had a similar condition last year at school. The nurse at school called me and apparently it is called ” Fifth disease”. It went away within 2 days, it was splotchy, red, no itch, no fever, no residual side effects, but he looked horrible for 2 days, it affected his cheeks, arms, thighs, buttocks, back and stomach it has never come back, I have never heard of anything like this being a recurring problem. Best wishes, Tiff
