eczema and allergies in children
claritin vs zyrtec for 3 yr. old?
Our 3 yr old has always had eczema but never rhinitis, now she is so bad, we took to md and she said she had to be on either claritin or zyrtec. looks like many side effects, but we have no option plus she has to have a eye drop, as well. We live in California. Please need advice as to what parents with children with horrific allergies prefer. She is uncontrollable, miserable and waking up at night. Any advice on that with allergies would be great, too. Md says that is all caused by alleriges.
Personally I prefer Claritin, but it is honestly whatever works better for your child. I have taken claritin ever since it was a prescription when I was little and it has always worked for me, but the little boy that I nanny for reacts better to zyrtec. You are going to have to try both of them with a small period of time (like 2 days) between them so that they do not effect each other. The eyes drops should not effect either of them.
